Book Giveaway Times Two

We're so happy to have a second copy of Melissa Clark's fabulous new cookbook, In the Kitchen with a Good Appetite, to give away to one lucky reader. We did a full review of the book here, but if you want a brief recap here's what you need to know: You want this book.

Clark is a wonderful writer (New York Times columnist of A Good Appetite, award-winning book author, for starters) who introduces her terrific recipes with short vignettes from her past. Sometimes they're about family memories; sometimes they're about how she created this particular recipe — whatever they're about, they're funny and down to earth. This is a cookbook for real people in real kitchens.

Our favorite part? She doesn't obsess about every little detail. If she's missing a certain ingredient, she wings it — with obvious great success.

Winning couldn't be easier. Just leave a comment below and we'll pick one lucky winner to receive a free copy of the book. Winner will be chosen at random on Thursday and announced on Friday.

Good luck!

---Janet and Rachel

  7. It sounds like my kind of book. While I might be a 'purist' about a few things in the kitchen I generally cook intuitively since I've been cooking since I was 13 when I cooked my 1st complete turkey dinner solo! So Melissa's book looks like a whole lot of fun and creativity to me!

  22. I actually have this book and I love it. I've made some great recipes but what I love the most? The stories...how those recipes fit into her life, I've enjoyed seeing that human side of Melissa while I'm making her food for my table.

  23. I love to read MC's Wed. columns every (almost) Wed in the NYT - her tweets are fun too. Been trying to rationalize buying another cookbook - eager for her newest later this year, I believe. Fingers crossed to win this one! Thanks...

  24. Not only do her recipes work, but Melissa Clark is just as accessible as a friend. The last time I bought one of her books and made braised lamb, I needed to substitute an ingredient. I tweeted her, she responded and my shanks were delicious.

  27. Awesome!!! I really appreciate cookbooks that connect with the home cook in more ways than just through measurements and techniques. Food memories are so important in my cooking process as well! Which is why I started a very small cooking show on YouTube called "Tasty Memories." Please check it out!

It'd be fun to cook my way from the first to the last page and create new food memories of my own. I'm getting hungry just thinking about all those new recipes. Thanks for considering me!
